Justify Your Attendance

We want you to join us at the 2023 AAOHN National Conference! That's why we created this toolkit to help you communicate the value of attending to your manager or supervisor.

Make the Case

Our justification toolkit includes a worksheet to estimate costs and an exercise in identifying return on investment for your company. When you're ready, use the email template to send a message to your manager to make the case to attend.

Discussing Your Attendance

After you send the email, there will certainly be questions about how attending the conference will help you and the company meet their needs. Below are some questions your manager or others might have, and the information you need to respond.

What is the AAOHN National Conference?

The AAOHN National Conference offers the most relevant education and professional development opportunities for Occupational Health Nurses. The conference includes professional development workshops, practice exchanges, sessions, and networking opportunities.

Why is your attendance at the 2023 AAOHN National Conference valuable?

By attending the AAOHN National Conference I can earn up to 14.5* hours of continuing nursing education (CNE)*. I will have the opportunity to share knowledge, skills, and lessons learned with other occupational health nursing colleagues. I will also partake in discussions about the most up-to-date evidence-based practices in my specialty area. The conference will provide me with the resources, technology, knowledge, and connections I need to deliver the highest quality care of health and safety for all our workers.

Why is continuing nursing education (CNE) important?

Continued nursing education (CNE) is provided for by the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN). AAOHN is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation, and approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (#CEP9283.)
