AWARDS & RECOGNITION

Annually, AAOHN honors outstanding members for excellence in activities that promote, advance, guide and protect the occupational and environmental health nursing profession. Please note, all awards applications are now due by December 31, 2024. The original November 11 deadline for all non-chapter awards has been extended to December 31.

Golden Pen Award

Recognizes contributors to the Workplace Health and Safety Journal for excellence in writing.

AAOHN Fellowship

Recognizes leaders in the field of Occupational and Environmental Health Nursing and AAOHN, who demonstrate outstanding accomplishments through significant contributions in the areas of clinical practice, education, research, management, or policy. Click on the link above to view the application requirements and scoring criteria. All applications must be submitted by December 31.

AAOHN Lillian G. Carter Humanitarian Award

Recognizes a leader in the profession of occupational and environmental health nursing (OEHN) and AAOHN, who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments through significant contributions in nursing and humanitarian endeavors in local, national, or international arenas. As an AAOHN member, this individual has shown exemplary leadership, dedication, courage, and inspiration in making an impact on improving the lives of others.  By offering this humanitarian award in honor of Mrs. Lillian Carter, AAOHN will be recognizing one of its dynamic members who has contributed in an exceptional way to their community at home or abroad. All applications must be submitted by December 31.

AAOHN Stewardship Award

Recognizes a licensed OEH provider (includes but not limited to: LVN/LPN/RN/APRN)  practicing in the field of Occupational and Environmental Health Nursing who is dedicated to creating a culture of health and safety in the workplace. This award acknowledges an unsung hero who protects and promotes the well-being of workers, ensures organizational compliance and peace of mind, and drives measurable business improvement. All applications must be submitted by December 31.

AAOHN Business Recognition Award

Recognizes businesses that support and promote the occupational and environmental health nursing profession. All applications must be submitted by December 31.

AAOHN Chapter Awards

Recognizes and promote AAOHN Chapters for quality, outstanding activity in the following areas: All applications must be submitted by December 31.

  • Chapter Communications
  • Chapter Community Service
  • Chapter Education (Best Short Activity, Best One Day Activity, and Best Multi-Day Activity)
