Occupational Health Nurses Association of the Philippines (OHNAP), Inc.
The Occupational Health Nurses Association of the Philippines (OHNAP), Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit professional organization of nurses working in the industrial, agricultural, commercial, educational, service (hotel & restaurant), government and non government institutions. AAAOHN signed a Memorandum of Understanding with OHNAP in early 2019 that allows our organizations to share resources and networking opportunties with fellow OHNs in the Philippines.
NIOSH Alliance
Under this partnership, AAOHN and the National Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH) through collaborative efforts and expertise identify workplace safety and health research needs, translate research into practice and promote the health and protection of workers. AAOHN and NIOSH have a mutual commitment to creating a culture of safety and health, and maintaining safe and healthful work environments. AAOHN and NIOSH will work cooperatively through the partnership to provide outreach, communication, and professional development opportunities regarding occupational safety and health, and facilitate the transfer and implementation of effective workplace illness and injury prevention measures.
The Nursing Organization AllianceTM
AAOHN is a member of the Nursing Organization Alliance, a coalition of nursing organizations united to create a strong voice for nurses. The Alliance provides a forum for identification, education, and collaboration building on issues of common interest to advance the nursing profession. AAOHN participates in the Alliance’s Nurse in Washington Internship (NIWI) with an annual member scholarship award program.
National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable
The National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable (NVHR) is a broad coalition working to fight, and ultimately end, the hepatitis B and hepatitis C epidemics. AAOHN participates in the NVHR as a voting member in seeking an aggressive response from policymakers, public health officials, medical and health care providers, the media, and the general public through our advocacy, education, and technical assistance.
Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments (ANHE)
AAOHN partners with ANHE to elevate our organizations leadership on climate solutions as a priority for our members, the public, and policymakers to protect the health of our families and communities and ensure a prosperous, just, and secure future. Our common goals are:
1. Put America on a path to a positive future that will protect public health and support healthy communities by taking meaningful climate action now.
2. Create and support solutions that are rooted in shared American values, improve people’s health, create a positive energy future, build sustainable prosperity, build resilience and the ability of communities and healthcare institutions to respond on climate threats, and engage all Americans.
3. Lead the nursing profession by furthering climate and health education and engaging colleagues, communities, health facilities and the public and policymakers in health protective climate solutions.
Vision Zero
AAOHN signed on to partner with Vision Zero prior to the North American launch in early May 2018. Vision Zero is based on the belief that all accidents, diseases and harm at work are preventable and focuses on three core values: Safety.Health.Wellbeing. As a partner of Vision Zero, AAOHN members have access to valuable resources to enhance your Total Worker Health program efforts.
NIOSH Total Worker Health®
AAOHN is a NIOSH Total Worker Health® Affiliate. AAOHN signed a collaborative agreement in 2016 to become a NIOSH, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), US Department of Health and Human Services, Total Worker Health® Affiliate. The purpose of becoming an affiliate is to engage in mutually beneficial activities that advance the goals of the NIOSH Office for Total Worker Health®, as well as to promote the safety, health and well-being of workers. This will be accomplished through research, program development, education, and the promotion of programming, and the full support and advancement of the principles, policies and practices of the NIOSH Office for Total Worker Health®.

AAOHN is an American Nurses Association (ANA) affiliate that belongs to ANA as an organization. Working together, AAOHN, ANA and these organizational affiliates seek to share information and collaborate in finding solutions to issues that face the nursing profession, regardless of specialty. As an affiliate, AAOHN holds a voting seat in both ANA’s House of Delegates and ANA’s Congress of Nursing Practice and Economics. This affiliate membership allows the nursing profession and health care consumers benefit from opportunities to speak with aligned voices as a result of the collaboration that occurs.
