Committees/advisory groups/project teams
AAOHN’s Committees, Advisory Groups and Project Teams create a member-driven organization aligned with the association’s strategy. There are nearly 100 volunteer members. They equally represent AAOHN’s five regions, 45% of the chapters and all sub-specialties in the practice of occupational and environmental health nursing.
Develop resources, based on chapter needs. Consult with chapter leaders. Review chapter models and recommend strategies for their success. Prefer current or past chapter leaders.
Review, revise and develop practice education and guidance products. Answer practice-related questions.
Regularly review the website in pursuit of errors and datedness; review and respond to the Peer-to-Peer Ask It questions; make practical recommendations for improvement and serve as the subject matter experts if there is a web redesign.
Investigate grant sources. Write and review grant proposals. Must have experience writing and obtaining grants
Evidence-based Projects Research Collaborative
Provide members doing research projects the opportunity to connect with students and academics who may have an interest or be doing research in like areas. Must have research experience
Develop public policy platform, advise on AAOHN support to others advocacy efforts, develop tools for member advocacy and advise AAOHN Board of Directors on AAOHN advocacy.
Chapter Networking Group
Part of the Legislative Committee initiative focused on chapter outreach for legislative issues of interest at the state level.
Review and select abstracts for conference workshops, podium presentations and posters; review member needs assessments and determine topics and actively seek faculty with gaps (leading edge and/or absence of a topic) in programming occur; serve as Facilitators for Practice Exchanges and Panel Discussions at Conference. Must have experience planning educational conferences
Develop webinar offerings, targeted to membership areas of work, chapter and career needs.
