A Musculoskeletal Safety Guideline – A Resource Tool for Occupational Health and Safety Professionals.
This webinar will discuss the Musculoskeletal system in the assessment of lower back, shoulder, neck and knee injuries. Learners will identify age-related changes which increase the risk of developing musculoskeletal injury and will discuss options for changes in the OHN practice.
Dr. Nancy Delloiacono is an Assistant Professor/Center for Clinical Learning Coordinator at Rutgers University School of Nursing. She has held positions in health department, occupational health and visiting nurse settings. In addition to her current role, she works part-time as an advanced practice nurse (APN) in home care and is adjunct faculty at New Jersey City University. Her area of interest is occupational health nursing and simulation- based learning.
Dr. Delloiacono earned her BSN from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and her MSN as a clinical nurse specialist in adult primary care from Seton Hall University. She earned two post Master’s certificates (nursing education and adult primary care APN) and her doctor of nursing practice degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Dr. Delloiacono has received several awards, presented at the state and national level, and published in Workplace, Health, and Safety.
Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
1. Discuss the Musculoskeletal system in the assessment of lower back, shoulder, neck and knee injuries.
2. Identify age-related changes which increase the risk of developing musculoskeletal injury
3. Discuss options for changes in the OHN practice
