An Overview of OSHA’s Respiratory Protection Standard and the Role of the OHN

Summary: This 90-minute course will provide the training needed by an Occupational Health Nurse in the role of a company’s Respiratory Protection Administrator (RPA) and will ensure that OHNs meet Respiratory Protection Competencies to assist in developing an effective respiratory protection program per the requirements of the Federal OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard (1910.134 CFR). The course will include an overview of the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard; OSHA’s permissible practice; NIOSH approved respirators including the certification process; respiratory hazard assessment, selection, and maintenance; medical evaluation and fit testing; worker training; respiratory protection program evaluation; and developing a written respiratory protection program.
