This certificate course meets the core curriculum requirements for medical examiner training, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Upon satisfactory completion of this program those eligible to serve as examiners will be prepared to sit for the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) certification examination. Content will follow the core curriculum with a focus on body systems. It will address the medical examiner’s responsibility to teach or inform the driver about medications and the impact the medications may have on the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle. It will address the use of the process in performing the examinations and coaching techniques to better engage CMV drivers in safe highway practices. Case studies will help you address exceptions and sample questions aid in planning for the certification exam.
