About the Program
Medications for hypertension, arrhythmia, clot prevention and high cholesterol are widely prescribed for cardiovascular health. Because herbal remedies and dietary supplements are often not recognized in the same category as “drugs” by clients, some of these self-administered products may interact dangerously with prescribed cardiovascular drugs. This webcast will increase your awareness of the most salient interactions and you will be equipped with questions to help detect potential incompatibilities.

What You Will Learn
Upon completion of this webcast, participants will be able to:

  • Identify at least three herbal remedies or dietary supplements that interact with warfarin to increase the risk of bleeding;

  • Identify at least three herbal remedies or dietary supplements that may interact with medications for arrhythmia, high blood pressure or high cholesterol.
