The launch of the CHLPI/NVHR Hepatitis C: The State of Medicaid Access project is off to a great start. Advocates in Illinois and Iowa have already engaged with their state Medicaids because of the poor grade in those states. The Connecticut Medicaid program tweeted proudly about its A+ grade, highlighting that it saves money down the line to treat patients early. Those are a couple of examples of how the report and report cards can be used to improve the state of access to hepatitis C treatment in the United States.
We encourage you to join NVHR on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm Eastern for a State of Medicaid Access webinar. CHLPI and NVHR will go over highlights from the report, including methodology and key findings. NVHR will discuss the report cards – how they determined grades, how states can change their grade, and how advocates can use them in their efforts. NVHR will also have time for questions and to hear how you have used (or plan to use) the materials.
