Help Your Patients with Diabetes Take Care of Their Heart

February is American Heart Month—a time for celebrating love and friendship. February also is a great time to talk to your patients with diabetes about taking care of their heart.

People who have diabetes have a greater chance of having a heart attack or a stroke. So make sure that your patients are aware that diabetes can cause heart problems and encourage them to take preventive action. Let your patients know they can download the tip sheet "Taking Care of Diabetes Means Taking Care of Your Heart" to get more information on what they can do to take care of their heart.
